Tinubu Behind Reports That I Want To Dump PDP – Atiku

by admin

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has pushed back against reports suggesting his intention to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), laying the blame squarely on President Bola Tinubu. Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, released a statement condemning what they described as a fabrication by Tinubu and his associates. The alleged misinformation, which circulated in various media outlets, claimed that Atiku, along with other influential politicians, was contemplating exiting the PDP to form a mega party ahead of the 2027 elections.

In the statement, Ibe expressed Atiku’s unwavering commitment to the PDP and the broader cause of working towards a better Nigeria. He accused Tinubu of intentionally spreading falsehoods to instigate discord and confusion within the party. The reports were characterized as a “blatant display of political mischief.”

Ibe highlighted the critical issues facing Nigeria, such as insecurity and poverty, and criticized Tinubu for engaging in what he termed as “cheap political theatrics” instead of addressing these pressing challenges. The statement called on President Tinubu to shift focus from divisive politics to governance.

The spokesperson affirmed Atiku’s dedication to the opposition party merger process and condemned Tinubu’s alleged attempts to undermine democracy. The statement concluded by urging opposition forces to unite against what they perceived as the “tyrannical grip” of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Despite the reported efforts to sow discord, Atiku remains steadfast in his commitment to the PDP and the pursuit of a better future for Nigeria, the statement concluded.
